How a HydroGreen Grow System Will Help You Reach Your Goals

Fully Automated Livestock Feed Growing Systems

HydroGreen Global Technologies is positioned to be the leader in automated hydroponic growing systems for production of sustainable live green grass that can be utilized in livestock feed, as well as a variety of other settings. It is in the livestock sector that HydroGreen creates the most significant influence. Including beef cattle, dairy, hog, sheep, goat, horses, donkey/mule, llama, alpaca, buffalo, poultry and even fish.

HydroGreen offers an alternative option for growing livestock feed that can free-up acres to be allocated to food production.

The patent-pending HydroGreen system is designed to provide an environmentally friendly process to grow livestock feed that is consistent, available year around, improves livestock health and reduces production costs. The HydroGreen Growing System is also an optimal choice for organic raised products since its design and methodologies do not call for herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.

HydroGreen's foundation is based on traditional hydroponic growth of forages - cultivation of plant material eaten by grazing animals.

Dihl Grohs, a South Dakota rancher/farmer with operations in SD, UT and MO, developed the unit to differentiate himself from the copetition. His goal was to create a straightforward, sustainable land substitute for producing feed in a manner that nurtures farm profitability.

HydroGreen creates efficiencies that ultimately lower costs and offer cropping options through patented seeding, watering and harvesting automation adaptations over typical hydroponic forage processes. The unit, consisting of 6 levels, placed in an environmentally controlled building, grows live green forages in 6 days' time…365 days a year. And, the system is scalable for use on small, medium and large scale farms. From a few head of horses to several thousand dairy cows.

Six Levels / Six Days Growth

HydroGreen Feed grows from seed to feed in just 6 days.

HydroGreen's Grow System is 6 levels tall so you harvest the fully grown feed from one level every day, of the year.

Automated Seeding

When it is time to re-seed a level the automated seeder lowers into place and spreads the seeds across the film at a predetermined level based on the type of seed being planted.

when completely planted the seeder raises out of the way allowing the feed to grow.

Lights On / Lights Off

HydroGreen's exclusive LED lighting system lights the growing feed on an adjustable schedule.

This exclusively designed lighting enhances growth with a lighting schedule that can be set to promote optimal growth.

Push Harvest Button

Image

How hard is it to Harvest and re-seed a level on a HydroGreen Grow System?

It's as easy as pushing the Harvest Button. The system does the rest.

When the Harvest Button is pushed the Grow System harvests the feed, cleans the film, re-seeds the film and starts the 6 day growing cycle.

Six Days From Seed to Feed

The HydroGreen Grow System automated planting system spreads 1/2" of seed on the table film. A fine mist of water is sprayed from above to initiate growth followed by a gentle rain to feed the plants as they sprout. After six days the film with the grown feed is rolled onto a roller and the lush green feed is harvested.

As the feed is rolled off of the level it is cut into small bite size pieces ready to be blended with a feed ration or fed directly to the livestock.

Once the harvest cycle is complete the film is pulled back onto the level with a new seed bed ready to Grow.

Hydroponic feed is a healthy choice for all livestock due to its makeup.

Mineral and vitamin levels are significantly elevated in the live green product over the whole grain itself. Prevalent vitamins, (A, E, C, B Complex) can increase by up to 20 times the original value in the seed. In a nutritional change that occurs as grains sprout, starch converts to sugar, making the fresh green forage better utilized by animal's digestive system.
